Class & Work Suspensions on January 2, 2019, Malacañang Palace Declares

The Malacañang Palace declares the class and work suspensions on January 2, 2019 (Wednesday) based on the recently released memorandum.

The classes in public schools and works in government offices throughout the country have been suspended on January 2, 2019.

The Palace released the Memorandum Circular No. 54 stating the cancellation of works and class to give the students and government employees the full opportunity to celebrate the holiday with the families and loved ones.

The memorandum was released further to the Proclamation No.555 (s. 2018) issued by the President declaring January 1, 2019 (New Year’s Day) as a regular holiday in the country.

Government-controlled offices, gov’t financial institutions, state universities, state colleges, local government units, and other agencies are covered by the new memorandum.

However, the management of private companies and offices would have their own decisions whether they will impose the suspension of work or not.
