Occidental Mindoro Hit by Series of Four(4) Earthquakes

EARTHQUAKES – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded that a series of four(4) quakes hit Occidental Mindoro.

Quakes most of the time come without signs that is why being aware on what to do is really essential. One of the places in the Philippines that is recently hit by a quake is the Occidental Mindoro.

Based on the bulletins released by Phivolcs, Occidental Mindoro was recently hit by a series of four(4) earthquakes since morning of December 18, 2018.

Phivolcs issued a bulletin stating that it recorded a 2.5 magnitude quake located at 13.53°N, 120.36°E – 018 km N 42° West of Paluan today. It hit at 04:50:00 am and has a depth of 034 km. It was tectonic in origin.

More than an hour after, Phivolcs recorded another quake. It has a magnitude of 2.6 and it hit the province at 06:18:44 in the morning today.

The tectonic quake was located at 13.68°N, 120.45°E – 023 km S 77° East of Looc and has a depth of 005 km.

At 12:05:49, another quake jolted Occidental Mindoro. The 3.4 magnitude quake was located at 13.62°N, 120.51°E – 023 km N 11°  East of Paluan with a depth of 085 km. It’s tectonic in origin.

Earthquakes

Recently, the Phivolcs released another bulletin. It is stated that a 3.9 magnitude quake hit West of Looc at 03:03:06 in the afternoon.

The quake was located at 13.62°N, 120.25°E – 012 km S 02° West of Looc and it was tectonic in origin. It has a depth of 010 km. According to Phivolcs, no damage is expected of the said quake.
