Her slow-mo turn is so famous that netizens created memes from it.
So what is the story behind the famous slow-mo turn of Catriona Gray?
Based on the interview of ABS-CBN reporter Dyan Castillejo with the Filipina beauty queen, the latter said that everything that happened on Miss Universe stage just happened.
Catriona also said that her catwalk during the prelims was the result of the evolution of her walk from the time she started her pageant training.
For her, achieving her walk now is a process. She spent years of training before finally perfecting her lava walk.
When asked if how she did her slow-mo turn, she said, “I just did it slowly” while laughing.
Aside from her famous turn, pageant fans also noticed her hair. Catriona said that she did not even know how she did that.
“It wasn’t me, it just happened that way,” she said.
The Pinay beauty queen added that there was no spray applied on her hair that night. It is because she and her team aimed for just a straight hair.
On the other hand, Catriona said that her mentor Carlos Buendia taught her that every time she makes a turn, she should do a snap.
She revealed that the slow-mo turn was indeed intentional.
