Davao Occidental Hit by 3.5 Magnitude Earthquake
EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a 3.5 magnitude quake in Davao Occidental.
The awareness on what to do when quake hits is important as the shaking of the ground often comes with no clue. Recently, several quakes have jolted places in and out of the Philippines.
Inside the country, a 4.7 magnitude quake hit South Ubian in Tawi-Tawi. Prior to it, five(5) quakes have jolted Surigao del Sur.
Recently, another earthquake has hit a part of the Philippines. According to Phivolcs, they recorded a 3.5 magnitude quake east of Sarangani in Davao Occidental.
In the bulletin released by Phivolcs, it is stated that the 3.5 magnitude quake in Davao Occidental was located 05.11°N, 126.87°E – 159 km S 77° East of Sarangani. It has a 048 km depth of focus.
The quake is tectonic in origin. According to Phivolcs, no damage and aftershocks is expected of the said quake.
