Sandiganbayan Finds Former Sen. Bong Revilla Not Guilty

BONG REVILLA – Former Philippine Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. broke his silence following the not guilty judgment of the Sandiganbayan.

Recently, the Sandiganbayan has acquitted former Sen. Bong Revilla from plunder case over his alleged involvement to the controversial Pork Barrel Scam. It refers to the alleged misuse of the PDAF or the Priority Development Assistance Fund.

Revilla’s family is very happy over the verdict of the Court. The former Senator also walked out of the court all smiles and visibly excited to be with his family after four years of detainment.

It was since 2014 that former Sen. Bong Revilla was detained. He was at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center in Camp Crame.

During special occasions, he only gets to spend a few hours with his loved ones depending on the permission granted by the court. That is why his son, Jolo Revilla, is really happy about the acquittal of his father.

On his Instagram account, the actor-politician posted a photo of him together with his father. In his caption, he expressed his happiness that they can be complete as a family again in their house now.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Jolo Revilla also expressed his gratitude to all the love extended to them. According to him, they will really have a happy Christmas now that they can be with the former Senator.

Speaking to DZMM Teleradyo, Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado, the wife of former Senator Bong Revilla, expressed that it is going to be the “best Christmas” for their family. He was not able to spend Christmas with them for four years.

According to the report, following his acquittal, the former Senator went to the Office of the Clerk of Court to post his bail of Php 480,000.00.

After posting his bail, former Senator Bong Revilla expressed his gratitude to his countrymen.

“Maraming salamat sa hustisya. Maraming salamat sa mga kababayan ko,” the former Senator said.

Based on a report on Manila Bulletin, former Sen. Revilla was already released yesterday at 6:30 pm.
