DUTERTE – Listed here are the controversial jokes of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte that went viral.
Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte or better known as Rody or Digong is the first Cebuano politician to hold the office.
Duterte is fond of making witty remarks and making jokes during his speeches. His jokes would sometime become controversies. Here is his compilation of jokes that went viral on social media and news reports:
- Extrajudicial Killings (EJK)
Based on a report from Philstar, President Duterte stated that he is not stealing from the government but he admitted that his only sin was the EJK.
- Missionary Woman
Duterte made a joke about the Australian missionary woman who was violated in 1989.
- The Philippines as Province of China
He suggested that the country could be one of China’s Provinces so that the country will have no more problems.
- Helicopter
The Philippine President stated that once threw a person off a helicopter and he’ll do it again to a corrupt politician.
“If you are corrupt I will fetch you using a helicopter to Manila and I will throw you out. I have done this before, why would I not do it again?” he said.
- Cannabis
Duterte revealed that he is using Cannabis Sativa to keep him awake.
“Hindi masyado kasi nagma-marijuana ako para magising,” he said.

- Riding a Jet Ski to China
Based on the report, the President said he’ll ride a jet ski with a Philippine flag in going to China instead of letting his Filipino soldiers to war.
“I will ride a jet ski while bringing the Philippine flag. I will not commit the Filipino soldiers [to war] kaya ako na lang pupunta doon,” he said.
He later took back what he said and expressed that it’s silly that he would go to China just riding a jet ski when he doesn’t even have one. “It’s just talk. I’m surprised you believed it,” he added.
The Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo explained that President Duterte just likes to be humorous on his statements to lighten a situation.
