2019 SEA Games Mascot “Pami” Revealed, Criticized By Netizens On Social Media
PAMI – Pami is the mascot for the upcoming 2019 SEA Games, with family as its inspiration for creation. However, netizens criticized the said mascot.
The name for the mascot is short for the word “pamilya” which means family in English. According to Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing committee (Philsgoc) Executive Director Ramon Suzara, Pami is a a smiling sponge ball-type figure.

A report in ABS-CBN states that it should be ready and that they just need to put it on the awareness and promotions, says Suzara.
The countdown for the Philippines’ hosting of the 2019 SEA Games began Friday at the Bayanihan Park in Angeles, Pampanga.
As per the report, the Philippines revealed the logo for the 30th SEA Games earlier this year. The logo featured 11 circles representing the 11 participating countries formed in the shape of the Philippine archipelago. The logo, however, was harshly criticized by many netizens on social media.
Like the logo, Pami has its own fair share of criticism by netizens on social media. Here are some of the comments on ABS-CBN News Facebook page regarding this article:
