UP & Ateneo Urge Fans To Wear Black In UAAP Finals To Protest Against Violence
The University of the Philippines and Ateneo de Manila University are urging fans to wear black on UAAP men’s basketball finals in protest of impunity.
On Saturday (December 1, 2018), UAAP men’s basketball finals will have its opening game between the UP Fighting Maroons and Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles.
UP Fighting Maroons will face the defending champion Ateneo Blue Eagles after getting the chance to advance to the UAAP finals for the first time in 32 years.

UP and Ateneo will compete in a series of three games wherein game 1 will be held in the Mall of Asia Area at 3 pm on Saturday.
However, the two universities urge their fans to wear black on the opening game of the UAAP finals in protest of killings and violence.
The Facebook page “Sanggunian ng mga Paaralang Loyola ng Ateneo de Manila” shared a photo calling the fans of UP and ADMU to wear black on the game 1 of UAAP finals 2018.
The photo has a caption of:
“Win or lose, it’s the nation we choose!
We urge everyone to wear black for tomorrow’s game as a protest against violence, impunity, and misogyny. “
