DEPED – The Department of Education revealed the date when the classes would resume following the Christmas break 2018.

The Christmas season is fast approaching and many people are surely looking forward to family gatherings. It is another perfect time of the year to spend some quality moments with your loved ones.

In line with the upcoming holiday season and the pursuit of the Department of Education to strengthen the emotional bond of the students with their families, the department has set an earlier Christmas break.

The DepEd Christmas Break was moved from December 22, 2018 to December 15, 2018.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the department has released a new order regarding the Christmas break in public elementary and secondary schools. Jasmin Romero has shared the news on social media.

Based on the DepEd order No. 049 series of 2018 dated November 28 of the current year, the department upholds the value of spending quality time with family.

“The Christmas season provides an opportunity for Filipino learners to strengthen their emotional bonds with their family,” a part of the order reads.

The Christmas break which is moved on December 15, 2018 will have the said date as still a class day. It is intended for the student’s activities.

Based on the report, with regards to when classes would resume following the Christmas break, students are expected to report to their elementary or secondary school on January 2, 2019 which falls on a Wednesday.

The order was addressed to undersecretaries, assistant secretaries, bureau and service directors, regional directors, regional secretary, ARMM, schools division superintendents, school heads, and all others concerned in the matter.

Based on the report, the urgent dissemination of the changes in the DepEd Christmas Break schedule is ordered and as well as the compliance of the public schools.
