Breaking News: Duterte To Fire Another Undersecretary Over Alleged Corruption

“I am going to fire another undersecretary for corruption,” Pres. Duterte Says

DUTERTE TO FIRE UNDERSECRETARY – Philippine President Rodrigo “Digong” Roa Duterte expressed that he is set to fire another undersecretary when he returns to Manila over alleged corruption.

Pres. Duterte has always been vocal about how much he hates drugs and corruption. Previously, in his pursuit to stop them, he has put the Bureau of Customs under temporary military control.

For several times in the past, the 73-year-old President has also fired several government officials over corruption allegations.

Pres. Duterte also takes injustices on the part of the government seriously. Previously, he has fired the Nayong Pilipino Foundation Board Members for a transaction that is allegedly disadvantageous to the government.

Recently, the President expressed that he is set to fire another undersecretary over the alleged corruption.

Duterte To Fire Undersecretary

Based on a report on Philstar, speaking at the opening ceremonies for the construction of the Bulk Water Project in Davao City, the 73-year-old Chief Executive expressed that he will do the dismissal when he returns to Manila.

Pres. Duterte did not name the undersecretary that he is set to fire over the alleged corruption but he stressed why he thinks corruption exists in the government.

“There is corruption in government because people are not doing [anything] about it,” he said.

Furthermore, based on the report, the President emphasized how he opened means for the people to be able to report to him about erring government officials.

In case the dismissal would be pursued when he returns to Manila, the unidentified undersecretary would be added to the list of government officials fired by the President over alleged corruption.
