Photo of Unused Leni Robredo Slippers Found At NPA Camp Garnered Various Reactions
The photo of unused Leni Robredo slippers allegedly found at an abandoned communist rebel camp garnered various reactions online.
Previously, a Facebook user named Ryan Aaron Lumbera Suguitan has uploaded the photos of thousands of unused slippers at an NPA camp, which was allegedly donated by Vice President Leni Robredo.
Suguitan was linking Robredo with the rebels after the unused yellow slippers have been found at the rebel’s territory.
The social media post was comparing the vice president to the “Rated K” host Korina Sanchez who gives free slippers to the less-fortunate Filipino people.
Here is the full post:
“Look: Thousands of unused Robredo’s slippers found in Abandoned NPA Camp.
However, the Agence France Presse (AFP) said that the unused slippers supposedly distributed by Robredo were fake.
AFP explained that the photo was taken during the birthday celebration of Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte at Bahay Toro village in Quezon City on March 14, 2016.
“That is the downside of social media/ internet. Especially when you’re a photographer, and your photos are out there, they can too easily be copied and pasted and used for other people’s agenda,” Niño Jesus Orbeta said quoted by Inquirer.
