Here are the highlights of China’s President Xi Jinping’s state visit in the Philippines

Chinese President Xi Jinping had a two-day state visit in the Philippines and here are the highlights.

Classes and work in government offices in Metro Manila were canceled for the arrival of Xi in the country on November 20.

Along with that was the gathering of protesters who oppose the ties between Philippines and China.

The first activity he did was the wreath-laying ceremony at the monument of Jose Rizal in Luneta Park.

Later that day, he met with President Rodrigo Duterte in Malacanan Palace together with other top Philippine officials.

In a statement, the Chinese President stressed out that the China’s friendship with Philippines is the “only right choice.”

On the other hand, the administration garnered criticisms when photos shot during Xi’s state visit appeared to be against the Philippine flag protocol.

One of the highlights that of President Xi Jinping’s visit in the Philippines was the signing of deals between the two countries.
