Tropical Depression Samuel To Hit Eastern Samar or Dinagat, PAGASA Says

The state weather bureau PAGASA announced that Tropical Depression Samuel was expected to make a land over Eastern Samar and Dinagat Islands.

On Tuesday afternoon (November 20, 2018), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that Samuel is moving closer to the land.

The tropical depression was last spotted at 185 kilometers east-southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar or 260 kilometers east of Maasin City, Southern Leyte.

Samuel has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 65 kph moving northwest direction at 20 kph.

Several local government units have already declared class suspensions in several areas due to the possible effects of Samuel.

The weather bureau also advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible threats of the tropical depression.
