Bacolod City Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia has been tagged as the major problem of the worsening traffic situation in the area.
Previously, the city of Bacolod is seeking the help of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to resolve the heavy traffic in the place.
The illegal establishments in the streets and sidewalks and defective traffic lights are the major factors of the worsening traffic in Bacolod City.
Recently, the social media site “The Bacolod Herald” tagged Mayor Leonardia as the real problem of the traffic in the city.
Leonardia’s lack of will to strictly enforce the traffic rules and regulations due to fear of losing votes makes the traffic problem difficult to resolve.
The politician’s decision to bring MMDA to resolve the traffic issue was allegedly a cover-up to deflect from the real problem.
The local officials within the mayor’s administration were already complaining regarding the refusal of Leonardia to remove the illegal structures from the streets.
The website also pointed out that the real problem was Leonardia’s lack of will power and protection for his barangay leaders who were holding the illegal structure since some suspects are earning from it.
