One of the most awaited exams by many students is the University of the Philippines College Admission Test or UPCAT. Many are rooting to be enrolled in one of the campuses of the prestigious school.

The UPCAT gathers thousands of takers from the different regions across the nation. Students from public and private schools are hopeful of getting a slot. Undeniably, there is a tight competition.

In fact, for the UPCAT 2019, around 10,000 individuals gathered during the last day of the filing of the application for the NCR private school student applicants. The filing of applications was held in UP-Diliman campus in Quezon City.

For this year, the UPCAT 2018 was held on October 27 and 28. Based on an article on Inquirer, there was a total of around 167,000 applicants.

Recently, some of the UPCAT 2018 takers shared their challenging experiences during the exam day.

“The test is one of the most difficult exams I’ve ever taken. The length, especially in the reading part and the difficulty of most questions, will force you to skip items.” – Benchard Bichayda, PAREF Southridge School

“All I can say about the UPCAT is that UP tests your intellectual capabilities and the way it inserted questions in Filipino will really make you think…” – Luis Mendoza, De La Salle University Senior High School

“UPCAT was hard, especially for average students like me. It really takes a genius to finish all those questions, especially the Math part! The time pressure was so real that I’m not even sure if I am going to pass.” – Juliana, St. Scholastica’s College Westgrove

“It was just amazing to see the number of people you were competing with to get a slot in this prestigious university. I knew from the start how much effort I needed to pass but it motivated me even more…”
– Nat Roque, PAREF Woodrose School

For next year, the UPCAT 2019 was held on October 27 and 28. Supposedly, it was scheduled on September 15 and 16.

However, it was postponed because of Typhoon Ompong (internationally known as Typhoon Mangkhut).
