This November, CAAP Will Reduce Flight Hours In Ninoy Aquino International Airport
CAAP – This November, The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) initiated reduction of flights in NAIA due to maintenance.
Following up on the reports, certain airlines like PAL and Cebu Pacific have released a list of flights cancelled. To those who booked flights in Philippine Airlines, you can check out the list here. Otherwise, you can check the Cebu Pacific list of cancelled flights here.
That being said, this is the main purpose of the flight cancellations a few days ago. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines asked the companies to readjust flights from November 15-20. They further relayed the flight reduction in all Philippine-based airlines and in Airport Coordination Australia (ACA).

A report in Inquirer says that as of now, there will be 40 flights in each hour. The implemented reduction states that not lower than 4 flights will be reduced each hour.
CAAP mentioned that this is part of the safety measure due to the reason that the old Manila ACC radar, which have liimited capabilities, will undergo transition phase and will become the Communications, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) system.
As per the report, The CNS/ATM will cover all areas in the Philippines and hopefully reduce the air traffic and airspace management in airports.
