Expensive Scallops In Visayan Sea Bought From Fishermen For Only P1
The expensive scallops that can be found in the Visayan Sea are purchased by some middlemen from the fishermen for just only P1 per piece.
The scallop is one of the numerous species of saltwater clams that cannot be found in freshwater and capable of swimming short distances.
This highly prices sea creature are usually served in high-class restaurants and hotels because of its delicious and savory taste.
However, fisher folks were also having hard times in harvesting scallops especially during the off-season, which is the major reason for its soaring prices.
Recently, the Twitter page “Mangingisda” has shared the photos of colored expensive scallops that can be found in the Visayan Sea.
The social media page said that those types of scallops are located along Iloilo, Negros Occidental, Cebu, and Masbate, which could be sold at a high price.
Unfortunately, several middlemen were allegedly purchasing these sea creatures for just only P1.00 per piece from the fishermen.
