Last Concert of Rico J. Puno is at Aliw’s 40th Anniversary Concert
RICO J. PUNO – The late OPM Legend Rico J. Puno’s last concert was at the 40th-anniversary concert of Aliw Award.
Undeniably, many of the family, friends, and supporters of Rico J. Puno were surprised and saddened by the sudden death of the OPM Legend. This morning, October 30, 2018, Anna Puno confirmed Rico’s death.
Anna is the manager and sister-in-law of the late singer. He died at the age of 65 and the cause of death is cardiac arrest.
It is no secret to the public that Rico J. Puno got some heart conditions. In 2015, he went through an open heart surgery and he got an angioplasty two years after it.
However, Rico J. Puno’s death came as a surprise to many people as he showed no signs of health struggle whenever he is on screen. The OPM legend is also an actor and a comedian.
Celebrities mourn Rico’s death. Many have already sent their condolences and expressions of sympathy and love to the bereaved family of the singer-actor. Many stressed that his music is a big part of their growing up years.
Based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, the last concert that Rico J. Puno was a part of is at the 40th-anniversary celebration of Aliw Award.
Rico was at the “[email protected]: The Ruby Anniversary Concert” with other legends in the Philippine music industry like Hajji Alejandro, Imelda Papin, and Pilita Corrales.
Based on the report, at the event, Rico J. Puno has expressed his gratitude to the concert goers. In a statement, Aliw President Alice Reyes expressed that they mourn the death of “a giant in Philippine live entertainment”.
“Rico was a dear friend whose passing has created a void that can never be filled. My deepest condolences to his family,” she said.
Based on the report, Aliw Awards also said in a statement that it is their pleasure that Rico J. Puno arrived at his “last concert” although he just came from a medication during that time.
