Sheryl Cruz Runs For Councilor of Manila’s Second District, Accompanied by Erap Estrada
SHERYL CRUZ – Kapuso actress Sheryl Cruz filed for her certificate of candidacy to run for councilor of Manila’s Second District.
Actress Sheryl Rose Anna Marie Sonora Cruz, better known as Sheryl Cruz, is one of the veteran actresses in the show business. She is known for her movies like Bakekang, Sinasamba Kita, and Rosalinda among others.
She is the daughter of the late actor Ricky Belmonte and former actress Rosemarie Sonora. Currently, she is under contract with the Kapuso network.
Sheryl plays the role of Adele Raymundo in My Guitar Princess, a GMA television drama series which ended last July 13, 2018.
The actress has visibly decided to take her chances in trying to enter the world of politics. Manila Mayor, Erap Estrada is the godfather of the actress.
Based on a report from PEP, Estrada accompanied Sheryl during the filing of her certificate of candidacy last Tuesday, October 16.
She aspires to be one of the Councilors of Manila’s Second District.
This is the actress’ first venture in politics. She will now be showcasing her political side.
Sheryl said that it’s been years since her friends kept persuading her to enter politics and she just finally decided to take a chance.
She stated she wanted to help the people at the Tirso Cruz Compound in Gagalangin, Tondo. It is also the place where she grew up.
“Gusto kong magsimula dun sa distrito ko kung san nagsimula ang pamilyang Cruz,” she said.
According to the report, Sheryl Cruz expressed that whatever help she could give to the poor, the old, and the children, she wished to have a chance to do it her way this time.
“Gusto ko naman sa pamamaraan ko naman, paunti-unti, maibigay ko sa kanila,” she said.
