Earlier, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) revealed the names of colleges and universities in Metro Manila allegedly linked to the so-called “Red October” plot aiming to oust President Duterte.
The military revealed that the communist rebels are recruiting students to rebel against the government by showing films depicting martial law under Ferdinand Marcos.
However, the universities responded and denied the allegations that students are being recruited by the communist rebels.
De La Salle University, the University of Santo Tomas and the University of Makati denied the accusations that they are joining the alleged “Red October” plot to oust Mr. Duterte
“It is a big allegation on the university. On our part, we have been in support of different educational needs of our marginalized sectors here in the university,” UST Simbahayan Community Development Office Director Mark Anthony Abenir said.
