Mocha Uson Open To Running in 2019 Election Following Resignation as PCOO Asec?
MOCHA USON – Following her resignation as the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Assistant Secretary, Mocha Uson broke her silence on the 2019 election.
Undeniably, there were calls for resigned PCOO Asec. Mocha Uson to leave her post. Those calls were ignited by the controversies that she got involved in including her recent viral federalism video with Drew Olivar.
Netizens on the social media campaigned asking for the removal of the then-PCOO Assistant Secretary from the government. For her part, according to her, their game show video has nothing to do with the information drive on the issue.
Mocha Uson is a staunch supporter of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The latter has previously affirmed that some things involving the former went overboard but he also raised that she is covered by her right to freedom of expression.
Recently, amid the calls of some people to her to step down from being the PCOO Assistant Secretary and the calls of her supporters to remain in her post, Mocha Uson decided to resign.
The announcement of the resigned PCOO Assistant Secretary was made during the budget deliberation of the PCOO which was held at the Senate. The decision of Uson took the social media by storm.
Following her resignation as the PCOO Assistant Secretary, Mocha Uson broke her silence with regards to the 2019 election. There are speculations that she might run for a seat in the government.
Based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, in an interview, Uson expressed her openness to run for a seat in the Senate or in the Congress.
“Senator, Congress—hindi ko po alam pero open po tayo,” she said.
According to the resigned PCOO Asec., she will be looking into the side of her supporters with regards to the upcoming election. She also expressed that she does not really consider surveys.
“Ako po, ang gusto lamang po natin ‘yung dapat na nasa Konrgeso o Senate ay totoong naninilbihan sa bayan kahit hindi pa ako yan,” she said based on the report.
Mocha Uson also reportedly expressed during the quick interview that her supporters are telling her to keep on fighting.
