The state weather bureau PAGASA released the latest weather update in the country informing the public of possible current weather condition.

On Saturday (September 22, 2018), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued the latest news about the current weather condition in the country.

PAGASA said that the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) would affect the weather over the entire Visayas, as well as the Mimaropa, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga Regions.

The weather agency said that the affected area would have cloudy conditions with scattered light to moderate rain and thunderstorms starting on the afternoon.

The weather bureau said that the tropical depression spotted at 2,015 kilometers east of southern Luzon is now moving 20 kilometers per hour (kph) west-northwest.

The tropical depression packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kph and gustiness of up to 65 kph was expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Sunday afternoon (September 23, 2018).

The weather disturbance will be locally named “Paeng” if it enters PAR and it is also expected to intensify as severe tropical storm and even a typhoon.

However, the weather system was not expected to make a landfall in the country.
