Bombo Radyo-Gen San Station Manager & News Director  Arrested Over Extortion Case

Bombo Radyo-General Santos Station manager and news director got arrested on an entrapment operation over extortion case.

The National Bureau Of Investigation-Sarangani District Office has conducted an entrapment operation and arrested the station manager and news director of Bombo Radyo in General Santos City.

NBI acting-in-charge, Regner Pineza explained that the two suspects were arrested at Grab A Crab Restaurant in Robinsons Mall during an entrapment operation.

Extortion Case

The suspects were identified as Jonathan “Jan Jan” Macailing (Station Manager) and Salvador “Boy” Galano, News Director and anchorman of Bombo Radyo – Gen San.

The NBI operatives arrested the suspects after receiving the money asked by the two radio station executives.

The complainant was identified as Pastor Joel Apolinario, the founder of KAPPA Foundation, a local money scheme in General Santos.

Extortion Case

The authorities helped Apolinario after finding out that the suspects were extorting a huge amount of cash from their victim.

Macailing and Galano were allegedly criticizing Apolinario and its foundation for over a months and asking P5 million to settle the issue.

The two suspects are now detained at NBI-Sarangani District Office facing charges of robbery extortion or robbery with threat and intimidation of person based on Article 249 of Revised Penal Code of the Philippines.

However, station manager Macailing denied the accusations and insisted that he never touched the money but the crime laboratory results shows that he is positive of ultraviolet powder applied on the marked money.

The station manager also claims that it was just a frame and Apolinario just wanted them to stop discussing the issue.
