UAAP Season 81: Trending Opening Of Premier Collegiate League

Here are some of the trending happenings during the opening of the UAAP Season 81.

UAAP SEASON 81 – The premier collegiate league of the country finally opened on Saturday at the MOA Arena and indeed “it all begins here”.

The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 81 officially opened.

This athletic association is composed of eight Metro Manila universities in the Philippines: Adamson University (AdU), Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU), De La Salle University (DLSU), Far Eastern University (FEU), National University (NU), University of the East (UE), University of the Philippines Diliman (UP), and University of Santo Tomas (UST).

In this event is where varsities such as Alyssa Valdez, Kiefer Ravena, Gretchen Ho, Mika Reyes, Teng brothers and among others have been known.

They are to compete in sports such as badminton, baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, chess, fencing, football, judo, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.

And on Saturday, the season 81 officially opened in a big event held at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The ceremonies had James Reid performed, Filipino band Spongecola rocked the venue, Stephen Curry leading the traditional athletes’ oath sportsmanship, and K-Pop star Minzy in a glittering number

NU Pep Squad and the NU Underdogs delivered a colorful dance number.

Despite the reinstatement of the bass and snare drum limits, the volume and intensity of drum beats have severely decreased from last season.

And as for the first basketball game of this season, UP Fighting Maroons beats UE Red Warriors with 87-58 win.
