‘The Hows of Us’ actor Juan Miguel Severo talks about his coming out as a gay on live TV
Juan Miguel Severo, the one who plays Kathryn Bernardo‘s best friend in ‘The Hows of Us’ with Daniel Padilla, admits that he is gay on live TV.
He was one of the guests in ‘Magandang Buhay’ last September 6, Thursday. Juan Miguel openly shared his sexual preference before the eyes of the morning show’s viewers.
Based on his series of Twitter posts yesterday, it seemed that he received questions why he had to divulge that information on live broadcast.
The spoken word poetry artist said that television is a medium more accessible “to families, to the common-folk, to those who are underprivileged and are undereducated about SOGIE“.
He also pointed out that everyone who watched that episode got to see and hear what he said at the same time. For him, television has a wider scope than his social media accounts.
Juan Miguel has been open about his sexuality on social media. However, TV, especially that it was live had a wider scope. It will even reach his family abroad.
He also said that there were those who “are so smug about knowing it”. This is his answer to them.

In ‘The Hows of Us‘, the actor was able to have a big opportunity in show business. He admitted in the morning show that he just used to admire KathNiel but now he was able to work with them in a blockbuster movie.
