Philippines Face Cloudy Weather Accompanied By Scattered Rains And Heavy Downpour
SCATTERED RAINS – On a Monday forecast (September 3), PAGASA said that the Philippines is expected to receive scattered rains and thunderstorms.
In a previous report, PAGASA announced last Friday (August 31) that a low-pressure are was spotted 350 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar. That time, Surigao del Norte, Dinagat, Bicol, and the rest of the Visayas experienced light to heavy rain while the rest of Luzon wouldn’t be affected by the disturbance, yet experienced localized thunderstorms
Today, as per a report on GMA, the Philippines will still continue to experience cloudy conditions followed by scattered rainfall and thunderstorm due to habagat.

Here are the following affected areas according to PAGASA:
- Metro Manila;
- Pangasinan;
- Central Luzon;
- The Calabarzon Region;
- The Bicol Region;
- The Mimaropa Region;
- The Zamboanga Peninsula Region; and
- The entire Visayas
The rest of the country, on the other hand, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers.
Based on the report, winds from the southwest to west would be moderate to occasionally strong over southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao. Coastal waters along these areas would be from moderate to occasionally rough. As for the rest of Luzon, winds from the northeast to northwest will also be moderate to occasionally strong with the same moderate to occasionally rough coastal waters.
Furthermore, PAGASA also kept track of Typhoon Jebi (formerly Maymay), in which it has maximum sustained winds of 205 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of 255 kph.
The said typhoon is was 1,330 kilometers east-northeast of extreme northern Luzon and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
