Korina Sanchez Deletes Post About Pinoy K-Pop Fans After Being Criticized

Korina Sanchez received criticisms for her post about Pinoy K-Pop fans

Veteran journalist Korina Sanchez deleted her post about Filipino fans of K-Pop groups after she received criticisms.

She pointed out how fanatic the millennials are now when it comes to the music of Korean artists.  For her, fans of singer stars from South Korea are so into their music when in fact they can’t understand the lyrics of their songs.

Korina shared on her Facebook this now-deleted post: “The kids went gaga over Wanna One tonight, and imagine P13,000 tickets and kids get their parents to spend for songs the lyrics of which hindi naman naiintindihan ng Pinoy!”

She also said: “The phenom is worldwide. It’s the look, I think!” she added. “All K-Pop concerts I’ve been to are filled with screaming kids na nilalagnat! Basta, malaki ang contribution ng Pilipinas sa ekonomoniya ng Korea.”

Her opinion did not sit well to some of the Pinoy K-Pop fans.

Based on the article published in Inquirer, fans of Korean groups did not like what she said, though she may just saying what she observed.

One netizen answered back to ‘Rated K’ host for her statement that Pinoy fans are just loving the looks of K-Pop stars.

Twitter user @ElleNoona1217 said that the talent of their idols are the primary reason why Pinoys are loving them.

The said netizen added that there is now Google who can directly translate the Korean songs to English.

“Unlike you we know how to use Google and we know how to study the language,” the netizen said.
