Enhanced Habagat To Bring Rains Over Parts Of Philippines, PAGASA Says
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the enhanced Habagat or southwest monsoon was expected to bring rains over some parts of the country.
On Saturday (August 25, 2018), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released the latest weather update in the country.
PAGASA reported that Tropical Depression Luis is moving away from the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) but continued to enhance the southwest monsoon.
Bagyong Luis was last spotted about 595 kilometers north-northwest of extreme northern Luzon moving at a north-northeast direction.
The tropical depression enhances the ‘Habagat’ bringing scattered moderate to heavy rain over Ilocos and Cordillera Administrative Regions, the Batanes, the Babuyan Islands, Zambales, and Bataan.
The enhanced southwest monsoon would bring cloudy conditions with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, the rest of Central Luzon and the Cagayan Valley Region, the Calabarzon Region, and the Mindoro Provinces.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country would have cloudy conditions with isolated rainshowers.
The weather agency also advised the fisher folks over southwest over northern and Central Luzon that sea travel remains risky because of rough to very rough coastal waters.
The remaining parts of Luzon would have moderate to rough waters while Visayas and Mindanao will have light to moderate coastal waters.
PAGASA also spotted another low-pressure area at 910 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes, which might develop into a tropical depression.
