Kathryn Bernardo Lipstick Ad Criticized, Netizens Notice Something Not Nice

Netizens have noticed something off on lipstick shade name of Kathryn Bernardo.

KATHRYN BERNARDO – The people have noticed something off over the lipstick shade name of Kathryn Bernardo’s “Happy Skin”.

Added to the list of achievements of the Kapamilya actress and young entrepreneur Kathryn Bernardo is being a makeup collaborator of the Homegrown beauty brand Happy Skin.

Following recent revelation of more than five years relationship with Daniel Padilla, Bernardo teamed up with the pioneer of skin-caring makeup.

In a previous article, the Teen Queen also opened a nail salon she named “KathNails” last year on May and a second branch has been followed on November due to its absolute success.

And recently, after launching her collaboration with “Happy Skin”, the netizens have noticed something on the name of a lipstick shade.

Accordingly, something was off.

The lippie’s name is “Spunk on her lips” which has confused the netizens.

Spunk, as per Google, means courage, bravery, valor, daring, and confidence. However, the word being matched with the “on her lips” phrase does give another malicious idea to the people.

Spunk is another vulgar term for s – m – n. As per Urban dictionary, this word is “rarely used in its normal form due to the obviously easy possibility to misinterpret it.”

Here are some of the netizens’ reactions from Twitter:

And this is why it’s very important to understand the various contexts and interpretations a copy may have before using it for an advert. Quite an unfortunate use of the word “spunk” coupled with “on her lips” to promote the name of the lipstick.

Spunk na nga, “on her lips” pa! Ok lang sana kung “spunk” na lang e. At saka very wholesome ang image ni Kath. Ang pangit naman ata kung sinadya para lang pag-usapan di ba?

I might be getting into an argument in the IPAC group re: the kath x happy skin “spunk on her lips” fiasco lol pota how do I delicately say “I agree this is bad marketing, i’m just saying y’all are dirty”

What can you say about this?
