Senate President Vicente Sotto III To Suspend Senate Work
VICENTE SOTTO III – On August 13 (Monday), from 11:00 AM Philippine Time, Senate President Vicente Sotto III will postpone work from the senate.
At first, Sotto thought that the weather will be fine by Monday. He was later informed by Senator Panfilo Lacson that half of the senators are currently affected by the flood.
According to a report from Inquirer, Lacson’s office later posted a tweet regarding the suspension of work.
Update: The hearing by the Senate Committees on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs and Local Government on the rank classification in the Philippine National Police will not push through today due to bad weather conditions. Please stay tuned for further updates. Thank you.

Thus, Sotto said that they will suspend work at exactly 11:00 AM in his Viber message to reporters. He further added that he did not suspend instantly due to some pending checks needed by some Senate offices.
However, as per the report, the office of Senator Win Gatchalian said that the Senate committee on energy will still push through with its hearing at 9 a.m.
