The state weather bureau PAGASA has released the latest weather update about the current weather condition affecting the country.

On Saturday (August 11, 2018), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that heavy rains will batter Luzon.

PAGASA said that the Luzon will be affected by heavy rains as Tropical Storm Karding leaves the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

The inclement weather condition was due to Bagyong Karding and a tropical depression outside PAR enhancing the southwest monsoon.

The enhanced ‘Habagat’ will bring a bad weather condition over Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Apayao, Abra, Benguet, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Aurora.

Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino and the remaining parts of Cagayan would experience scattered rainshowers with thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila, Zambales, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bulacan, Tarlac, Rizal, Laguna, Batangas, Northern Quezon, Bataan (Bagac,Limay Morong) and Cavite (Amadeo, Maragondon Indang) are expected to experience from light to occasionally heavy rains.

The weather agency also revealed that the weather disturbance outside PAR was spotted 1,040 km west of northern Luzon. However, it was not expected to enter the country.

The tropical depression has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 75 kph.
