Airline Employee Steals Plane, Suddenly Crashed After Unauthorized Takeoff
A certain airline employee stole an aircraft from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and suddenly crashed in the wooded area.
On Friday night (August 10, 2018), a 76-seater aircraft was stolen by an airline mechanic and flew it for an hour but crashed after unauthorized takeoff.
The airport officials revealed that the suspect is working as an airline mechanic at the Horizon Air who died after the plane crashed in a wooded area 40 miles away.
Pierce County Sheriff Paul Pastor said that the 29-year-old has not yet identified and explained that the incident was not considered as terrorism.
The sheriff’s department said that the airline mechanic might lack flying skills, which caused the crash.
The plane has been chased by two F-15 jets of military before it crashed on Ketron Island between Tacoma and Olympia.
Horizon Air temporarily suspends their operations after its Q400 turboprop aircraft was involved in an unauthorized takeoff, according to Alaska Airlines, the sister carrier of the airline.

Alaska Airlines said that the regular operations of Horizon Air immediately resumed after the incident.
