MARICEL SORIANO – The veteran actress Maricel Soriano got emotional seeing her father, the late King of Comedy Dolphy, during ‘John en Marsha’ viewing.
Maricel Soriano is undeniably among the well-loved veteran actresses as she would not be called as the “Diamond Star” for nothing.
She had been into some controversies after returning to show business but based on a previous report, Soriano has no personal intentions on returning and is just after the happiness of the people.
The Diamond Star is also one of the casts of the much-anticipated show “The General’s Daughter” along with Angel Locsin.

One of the most popular roles played by Maricel Soriano is “Shirley”, the daughter of the titular characters “John en Marsha” originally played by late artists Dolphy and Nida Blanca respectively.
And recently, the 1985 film of “John En Marsha” was digitally restored and remastered where Soriano, as one of the main casts got emotional upon seeing the late comedy king whom he looked up to and treated like a father.
“Itong pelikulang ‘to, iba ito, kasi ito ay pelikula na kasama namin ang daddy namin. Sobrang saya ako na may kasamang lungkot, na may kasamang tampo, may mga masasakit, may mga masasaya. Halo-halo.”
“Magmula nang mawala ang daddy ko, hindi ako nanonood sa kaniya, hindi ko siya pinapakinggan, kasi hindi ako makatulog. Hindi ko kaya… Tuwing may problema ako, ang takbuhan ko ang daddy ko.”
She further added during her speech, “For 47 years, ang dami ko nang nagawa, marami na akong nakasama, pero iba si John at si Marsha. In real life, I am a product of a broken family. Pero hindi ibig sabihin noon, hindi ako nakatikim ng pagmamahal ng totoong pamilya. Dahil kay John at kay Marsha, alam ko ang pakiramdam ng isang buong pamilya.”
