Before SONA 2018, Duterte Visited The Hospital For A Check-up
SONA 2018 – President Rodrigo Duterte visited the hospital a day before his SONA this July 2018 for his medical check-up.
Based on the report, the president is going to give his State of the Nation Address today this July 23, 2018 at Batang Pambansa Complex. Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista declared that there will be no class on this day for that reason. Although the fact that this is not a holiday, there will be heavy traffic and mass demonstrations in certain areas in Quezon City.
As per another report, Award-winning director Joyce Bernal will be directing the SONA. Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar said that the director offered her services free of charge. Thus, both the palace and Bernal won’t sign the contract.
Even actor Robin Padilla commended Bernal for her actions.
On July 22, the day before SONA, Duterte visited Cardinal Santos Medical Center located in San Juan City that Sunday afternoon.
Based on the report in Rappler, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that the president spent about “an hour and a half for the routine examination”. The president had an X-Ray and visited the cardiology department.
Roque even added that the president “is in good health” after the checkup. Afterwards at 9pm, he went back to the palace to rehearse his SONA.
Based on the report, Duterte admitted to a batch of medical conditions, that includes Buerger’s disease and Barrett’s esophagus. He even skipped a lot of important events, including the Independence Day rites in Luneta last year.
