Latest Weather Update On Typhoon Gardo (Maria) Released By PAGASA

The state weather bureau PAGASA has released the latest weather update regarding Typhoon Gardo with an international name “Maria”.

On Tuesday (July 10, 2018), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that Typhoon Gardo has slightly weakened.

Gardo now has maximum sustained winds of 170 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 210 kph moving 30 kph at west-northwest direction.

The typhoon was last spotted at 760 kilometers east-northeast of Basco, Batanes and continued to enhance the southwest monsoon.

PAGASA reported that Gardo is not expected to make a landfall in the Philippines but the enhanced southwest monsoon may affect the weather condition over Metro Manila, Luzon, and Visayas.

The weather agency warned the resident of Metro Manila, Palawan, Mindoro, Romblon, Zambales, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas and Bataan to take precautionary measures for possible flashfloods and landslides due to monsoon rains.

The rest of Luzon and Western Visayas would have Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers are also expected in the rest of the country.

Meanwhile, the coastal waters over northern and eastern seaboard of Northern Luzon will be from rough to very rough.

Bagyong Gardo is the 7th tropical cyclone to enter PAR this year and expected to leave the country by Wednesday Early morning (July 11, 2018).
