National Feeding Program For Public School Children Approved By President Duterte To Fight Hunger

President Rodrigo Duterte has signed into law the bill suggesting the national feeding program for public school children to fight hunger.

The bill institutionalizing the national feeding program for undernourished kids in public schools has been already approved by President Duterte.

The Republic Act 11037 entitled “Masustansyang Pagkain para sa Batang Pilipino” aims to provide the needs of undernourished students in public daycare, kindergarten, and elementary schools.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque is the principal author of the bill explained that the act would help almost six million Filipino students suffering from malnourishment.

“It is a clear proof of the president’s dedication to afford every Filipino child of the right to proper healthcare and nutrition benefits,” Roque said quoted by News5.

Meanwhile, Senator Bam Aquino, the principal sponsor, and co-author of the measure in the Senate praised the law aiming to provide nutritious food to the public school students to combat hunger.

“Napakalaking tulong nito para mabigyan ng sapat na nutrisyon ang ating mga estudyante upang sila’y lumaking malusog at matalino,” Aquino said.
