Ilocos Region, CAR, & Cagayan Valley To Be Affected By Tropical Storm Florita, PAGASA Says
The state weather bureau PAGASA has warned Ilocos Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley to be affected by Tropical Storm Florita.
On Saturday (June 30, 2018), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that Tropical Storm Florita with an international name of Prapiroon is affecting some parts of Luzon.
Florita has slightly intensified and slowed down packing with maximum sustained winds of 75 kph from and gustiness of up to 90 kph
The weather disturbance was located 775 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes moving northwest at an even slower 8 kilometers per hour (kph) from 12 kph.
PAGASA did not also raise any tropical cyclone warning signals since Florita is not expected to make a landfall in the country.
The tropical storm’s trough or elongated region affects the Ilocos Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley.
The weather agency advised the residents on the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods and landslides.
Tropical Storm Florita is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Sunday (July 01, 2018).
