The weather disturbance strengthens the southwest monsoon that would bring occasional rains over Northern Luzon during the weekend.

Florita’s center was located about 860 km East of Basco, Batanes packing sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

The tropical storm is moving at a speed of 11 kph at a northwest direction and could bring moderate to heavy rainfall within its 300 km diameter.

PAGASA explained that the storm is not expected to make a landfall in the country so no tropical cyclone warning signals have been raised.
