PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update On Monday (June 25)
The state weather bureau PAGASA has released the latest weather update in the country for the next few days.
On Monday (June 25, 2018), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced that the country could expect sunny days ahead as the southwest monsoon has receded to the West Philippine Sea for now.
PAGASA weather specialist Samuel Duran said that the Philippines would experience a break in rains because of the weakening “Hanging Habagat”.
The weather agency said that good weather condition for the next few days was also because of the prevalence of the ridge or extension of a
high-pressure area (HPA) affecting Northern and Central Luzon.
Duran said that the slight and temporary weakening of southwest monsoon would bring warm and humid weather condition in the morning but might bring thunderstorms with heavy rain and gusty winds during the afternoon.
The weather specialist also warned the residents over the mountainous area of eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao to be prepared for possible flashfloods and landslides.
The weather bureau does not expect the formation of a tropical cyclone within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
