Low-Pressure Area To Bring Rains In Some Parts Of The Country

The state weather bureau spotted a low-pressure area (LPA) that was expected to bring rains in some parts of the country.

On Wednesday (June 20, 2018), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released the latest weather update in the country.

On Tuesday (June 19, 2018), the weather agency spotted a low-pressure area on the eastern part of Luzon.

Low-Pressure Area

The weather disturbance was last located at 100 kilometers east of Daet, Camarines Norte around 3 am on Wednesday. It was not expected to develop into a tropical cyclone this week.

PAGASA said that the LPA was expected to bring light to moderate rains over Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas.

Ilocos and Cordillera regions and the islands of Batanes and Babuyan are expected to experience light to moderate rains because of southwest monsoon.

Low-Pressure Area

PAGASA meteorologist Meno Mendoza warned the residents in low-lying areas in Bicol and Eastern Visayas to be prepared for possible flash floods.

Localized thunderstorms are also expected in Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
