Tropical Cyclone ‘Domeng’ To Affect PH Weather System
The low-pressure area spotted inside PAR was expected to develop into a tropical cyclone, which will be named ‘Domeng’ and affect the country’s weather condition.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced that the low-pressure (LPA) spotted about 760 kilometers east of Butuan, Agusan del Norte could enhance into a tropical cyclone within 24 hours.
PAGASA weather special Ariel Rojas said that the LPA would be named Domeng once it turns into a tropical cyclone.
On Thursday (June 07, 2018), Domeng was expected to pull the southwest monsoon toward the western part of the country, according to Rojas.
The weather agency has also warned the residents of Caraga and Eastern Visayas of possible flashfloods and landslides.
Light to moderate rains and thunderstorms are expected over the provinces of Bicol, Palawan and the rest of the Visayas and Mindanao.
PAGASA also said that the rainy season was expected to start between June 4 and June 14, 2018.
The approaching weather disturbance might improve the rain-bearing southwest monsoon, which is considered one of the criteria for declaring the wet season, according to weather forecasters.
