Earth’s Temperature Getting Warmer For Over 400 Months Now
The Earth’s temperature is getting warmer and warmer for more than 400 consecutive months, which is considered above average.
NOAA climatologist Ahira Sanchez said that the Earth’s temperature has been above average as it gets warmer for the last 33 years.
NOAA’s monthly global report made the dubious milestone available to the public in order to be aware of the planet’s climate change.
The report also shows that the April 2018 had been the third-highest temperature recorded by NOAA since 1880.
“It’s mainly due to anthropogenic (human-caused) warming. Climate change is real, and we will continue to see global temperatures increase in the future,” Sanchez said quoted by CNN.
Sanchez also said that warmer years are also caused by natural factors including the extreme heat of El Niño or the breezing effect of La Niña.
In 2016, the warmest year has been recorded along with the strong El Niño system.
Volcano eruption could decrease the global temperature as the ash and smog deflect solar radiation away from the planet.
Climatologists explained that the average temperature pattern since the 20th century is not normal.
