Pinoy Singer Freddie Aguilar Considered To Run As Senator Under PDP-Laban
The Filipino singer Freddie Aguilar was being considered to run as a senator under PDP-Laban Party for the next election.
Ferdinand Pascual Aguilar or popularly known as Freddie Aguilar is a Filipino folk musician who originally performed the popular hit-song “Anak”.
Aguilar is not only popular in the Philippines, but also throughout the Asia-Pacific region and dubbed one of the best musicians in the country.
The famous Pinoy singer is also a political activist who was best known for his own rendition of “Bayan Ko”, which became the anthem for the opposition to the Marcos regime during the 1986 People Power Revolution.
Recently, Senate President Koko Pimentel said that Freddie Aguilar is being considered to run for senator under the “Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan” (PDP-Laban).
The 65-year-old singer was also a member of the party and about 20 people were also considered on the senatorial list of PDP-Laban, according to Pimentel.
