Joanna Demafelis’ Murderer Sentenced To Death By Hanging
The Kuwait Court has issued a death sentence for Joanna Demafelis’ murderer over killing the 29-year-old Filipina maid.
Previously, the death of the Pinay Overseas Filipina Worker (OFW) identified as Joanna Demafelis has been the headlines of both local and international news outlets due to her gruesome death.
The dead body of the Pinay maid was found inside the freezer of an abandoned apartment in Kuwait, according to the authorities.
The suspects have been identified as Nader Essam Assaf, a Lebanese man and his Syrian wife who were arrested last February 2017 in the Syrian capital Damascus during an Interpol manhunt.
On Sunday (April 01, 2018), the Kuwait court sentenced the Lebanese-Syrian couple to death by hanging because of killing the helpless Pinay OFW.
However, an unidentified source told AFP that the sentence can still be appealed if the couple would return to Kuwait.
Nader Essam Assaf was handed by the Syrian authorities to Lebanese authorities, while his Syrian wife remains under the custody in Damascus.
