Filipina Athlete Marian Jade Capadocia Wins Doubles Crown In Bahrain
The Filipina athlete Marian Jade Capadocia and her colleague Omani star Fatma Al Nabhani have won doubles crown in Bahrain.
Last week, Fatma Al Nabhani and Marian Jade Capadocia bagged the $15,000 Manama ITF Women’s Circuit tournament in the Bahraini capital.
It was the first title of the year of Fatma after winning the doubles crown with the help of her Filipina teammate.
Marian and her foreign teammate have defeated the top pair of Zimbabwe’s Valeria Bhunu and Great Britain’s Emily Webley-Smith for a straights sets 7-5, 6-2 win during the early rounds.
In the semifinals, the Pinay athlete and Fatma upset the Indian second seeds Zeel Desai and Kanika Vaidya in a 3-6, 7-5 (10-4) victory.
The Omani star also played in the singles tournament but ended in the quarterfinals. She was beaten by Slovakian fourth seed Tereza Mihalikova in a 6-1, 6-4 lose.
