North Korean Leader Kim Jong-Un Made Surprise Visit To China, Met Xi Jinping

The North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-Un met the Chinese President Xi Jinping during his surprise visit to Beijing, China.

On Wednesday (March 28, 2018), the Chinese state media confirmed that Korean Kim Jong-un and China’s Xi Jinping has finally met in Beijing.

Kim Jong-Un and his wife Ri Sol Ju flew to China for an official trip, which took place from March 25 to 28, 2018. It was the first trip of Kim abroad after he took the position of his father Jong II who died last 2011.

North Korea considers China as their traditional ally and major trading partner despite the rising tension on the Korean Peninsula.

The young North Korean leader and the Chinese President discussed some important matters together with Li Keqiang, the Chinese premier, and Wang Qishan, the Chinese vice president.

Kim showed his commitment to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula but give some conditions for the agreement.

“The issue of denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula can be resolved, if South Korea and the United States respond to our efforts with goodwill, create an atmosphere of peace and stability while taking progressive and synchronous measures for the realization of peace,” Kim said quoted by CNN.

Meanwhile, the two leaders were hoping for a long-term healthy relationship between the two countries that would benefit their nations with development, stability, and regional peace.
