Ryza Cenon won an international award for her role in the film “Mr. and Mrs. Cruz”.
RYZA CENON – The Kapuso actress Ryza Cenon was successful in bagging the Yakushi Pearl Award (Best Performer) at the Osaka Asian Film Festival for her role in the “Mr. and Mrs. Cruz” film.
The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) Chairperson Liza Diño Seguerra has confirmed on Twitter that the Kapuso actress Ryza Cenon has won the award.

This is the second year that a Pinay actress has won the international award at the Osaka Asian Film Festival.
Cenon succeeded Iza Calzado for “Bliss” in bagging the Yakushi Pearl Award (Best Performer).

She won the award for her commendable role in Mr and Mrs Cruz which told the story of Raffy (JC Santos) and Gela (Cenon) who met in Palawan and also happened to have the same surname.
On Instagram, the Kapuso actress expressed her reaction as she indicated, “Woohhoo!!! Thank you! Mabuhay ang Pelikulang Pilipino!! Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala hahahah ganito pala feeling. Nakuha ko ang perlas para sa pilipinas!”

She was shocked indeed.
One netizen even commented on the post, “Infairness, MrAndMrsCruz movie is one of the best movies I’ve ever watch! I’ve watched twice. Congratulations!”

In the same awarding event, FDCP chairperson also confirmed that director Mikhail Red won the Most Promising Talent Award for his winning film Neomanila.
