Angeli Valenciano firmly stands that Pinoy models including her daughter were not fairly treated in LA fashion week.
ANGELI VALENCIANO – The mother of Kiana, Angeli Valenciano, seemingly still in fury after what happened to the Pinay models in LA fashion week where they received ”No Filipinos to walk” treatment from the promoter.
According to a previous article, Kiana Valenciano, Jamie Herell, and other Pinay models were banned to walk the ramp of the LA fashion week where they got invited.
Thus, igniting racial discrimination issue.
LA fashion week has then received backlash after the issue surfaces.

“So Kiana wasn’t allowed by the organizers of the Opening Night of The Arts Heart Fashion group to walk the ramp even if she was a special guest of Jacob Meir, owner of @forthestarsfashionhousein Melrose,” Angeli, Kiana’s mother wrote in an Instagram post.
For over the alleged discrimination, Kiana said, “Whether be kindness, compassion, strength, dignity, the things that you stand for — no one can take that away from you, no one can tell you that you aren’t beautiful.”

In defense, the producer of the event Eric Rosete has stated, “This had nothing to do with race, color or gender. This had to do with the fact that he (Meir) is a crook and a liar. He was collecting money from designers, sponsors, and models on the side and trying to run a side business from our production, all while telling us he would pay us ‘one day.”
“They brought 5’5 models I did not cast in the show, and they brought their own hair and makeup team which is against our contract. They owe us over $100,000 in past dues,” Rosete also wrote.
With the rounding issue, she firmly expressed and clarified through a Twitter post, “Clarification: Not being allowed to walk due to height (or race) is different from not being allowed to enter backstage. My daughter was on the way to the venue when we were told how the Filipinos were being treated by the promoter.”No Filipinos to walk” in ramp.We were shocked.”
