John B. Lacson Maritime University Issues Statement About Missing Cadets On Maersk Line

The John B. Lacson Maritime University has issued an official statement about their missing cadets due to the burnt Maersk line cargo vessel along the Arabian Sea.

This week, the reports regarding the Maersk Honam fire incident has been the headlines of both international l and local news outlets.

About four crew members of the shipping vessel; an Indian, African, and two Filipinos went missing after the fire broke out throughout the vessel.

Recently, the official Facebook page of “Rmn Iloilo” has posted the official statement of John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University regarding their three engine cadets who were on board during the incident.

The cadets were identified as:

  • E/C John Rey Begaso
  • E/C Janrey Genovatin
  • E/C Carl Vincent Chan

The three cadets were currently having a cadetship program at the Maersk Line.

Maersk Line verbally confirmed that E/C Chan is already safe but Begaso and Genovatin are still missing.

John B. Lacson Maritime University vows to assist the families of the cadets that they will communicate with the shipping line for further updates and information.
