Remains Of Another Pinay OFW Who Died In Kuwait Arrived In Philippines

The remains of another Pinay OFW in a viral photo who died in Kuwait due to a severe illness has finally arrived in the Philippines.

Jeanette Opido, a Pinay Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) has been the headlines of several local news outlets and social media sites after her photo showing her skin-and-bones body spread like a wildfire online.

Opido’s agency allegedly told her to run away from the hospital because they had no cash to pay for her medical bills.

However, the agency identified as “iRekrut Manpower Incorporated” denied the allegations of abandoning the Filipina migrant worker.

iRekrut Managing Director Roland Collado explained that Opido’s photos were proof that the agency did not abandon the OFW.

Collado also submitted about 12 reports about Opido’s condition to the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).

The Pinay worker allegedly passed away last February 23, 2018, due to an acute failure of blood circulation and stop of heart muscles and respiration, heavy weakness in heart muscles, lung infection, failure of respiration functions, according to iRecrut based on Kuwait Ministry of Health.

Collado also declined the accusations that their agency is involved in Opido’s decision to run away from the hospital last September 2017.

The agency’s managing director was pointing a certain Glaiza Gamboa, who’s allegedly a member of a non-government organization and involved in the incident.

Collado also said that Foreign Recruitment Agency (FRA) was already investigating the incident with the help of the Kuwaiti authorities.
